WSIJ2025

WSIJ is West Sussex's International Jamboreee, giving thousands of scouts and guides from around the world eight days of adventurous activities, cultural sharing and lifelong friendships.

WSIJ provides a distinctive opportunity for young people and their leaders to come together, enjoy themselves, and create lasting memories. Our festival fosters joy, camaraderie, and the celebration of shared experiences. Its large scale offers participants the chance to engage in activities and adventures that they may never have encountered before.

Who?

WSIJ is open to all Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders, Scouts and Explorers in Girlguiding Sussex Central, Girlguiding Sussex West and West Sussex Scouts.

On top of this, the camp is open to International Sections of aligning age ranges, and we encourage UK units to invite international links.

What?

WSIJ is a fun-packed, multi day festival of scouting and guiding under canvas. There will be a wide range of activities and experiences to take part in during your visit, including water sports, target sports, bushcraft skills and much more - plus interactive talks, demonstrations and performances.   

When?

We are pleased to announce that WSIJ 2025 will take place between 2nd - 9th August 2025. 

Registration for the event is already open - please see below for further details on how to apply.

For volunteers, please note pre-build starts 29th July with final strike by 11th August. 

Where?

WSIJ 2025 will take place at the  South of England Showground near Ardingly, in the beautiful West Sussex countryside. 

The address of the site is Selsfield Road, Ardingly, West Sussex, RH17 6TL

Specific arrrival details will be provided closer to the event.

Please note that the costs above do not include food or transport. However, all participant activities are included.

How do I sign up?

Our online booking system is now live - please click the button to register.

Note, the Participant Bookings is for unit and leaders and Staff Team Registration is for all adult volunteers who would like to join the team to help make the event happen.

Safeguarding & Welfare

The Safeguarding & Welfare Team are looking for team members.  Please note, some roles require previous safeguarding experience.

The Rainbow Hub is looking for team members and supporters to join their team to help run activities and events.

Sub Camp Leaders

Sub Camps are at the heart of the Jamboree, they are the participants home for the duration of the camp.

Would you like to be part of making a wonderful experience and lasting memories? Are you bubbly, full of ideas and up for fun? Then the Sub Camp Leader role is for you!

Activity Zone Leaders

We are looking for volunteers to lead the Activity Zones.

You will be responsible for providing activities suitable for the theme, the zone theme, building a team of volunteers to run the zone, budgeting, admin, attending activities meetings, etc

Activity Zone Staff

We are looking for volunteers to deliver the activity programme. Help set up and take down the activities, use your skills, interests, permits and qualifications to help deliver activities during the camp.

So now you know the basics, let's find out a little more about the event.

Sub Camps

Full details of our subcamps will be announced soon.

Each subcamp will have a headquarters, which houses your local leadership team.

Your subcamp team will be your number one resource for any help you might need while at WSIJ

The City

Our festival city is the main focus of the event.

Within the city area, you will find the main reception and information point, the stage for our event speakers and performers, the tuck shop, various traders and our Scout and Guide retailers. Our festival city also plays host to our ceremonies and hosts the flags of all attending contigents. 

Activities

There are multiple activity areas across the festival site.

Each activity area will host a range of different adventurous activities and experiences.

We will be releasing a full list of available activities in due course, but rest assured there will be plenty of fun, games and challenges to get stuck into.
