We are committed to accessibility for all, providing inclusive facilities and support to ensure every participant can fully enjoy and engage in camp activities.

Reasonable Adjustments

WSIJ25 camp is accessible for all to attend for the entire week as provisions have been made for a diverse range of additional needs.

It’s important that the leaders have a full and detailed list of the attendee’s additional needs along with any required and reasonable adjustments needed and that these are detailed on the appropriate forms. These forms will be shared with the Welfare and Safeguarding team.

If the attendee has any medical devices or mobility aids that require power, these will need to be declared on the forms. These are also to be emailed to [email protected] as soon as possible so the appropriate teams can be made aware and provision made.

The provisions already planned are as follows

We will have The Safe Space that will have Scout and guide members who will provide support to young people and adults who need a space away from the main activities of the camp, the space will be a sensory break out space, which will have activities, sensory lights and a chill out space.
We will also have extra activities on All Sections day as we appreciate this is a very busy day with the extra guide and scouting sections coming to site.
All main activities will be accessible for all, some may require some provisions to make them accessible and these provisions can be made available on request.
Where any additional carers are attending camp, for any length of time, they will need a valid guide or scout DBS. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to waver the volunteer attendance fee but there are grants available within Scouts and Guides to help with this, please see their main websites for details.
